As legal iconography can be considered as a field of visual law, it might be of interest to you that Signa Iuris (see http://www.signa-iuris.de) has recently pulished volume 4 of its book series. Moreover, it will publish volume 5 very soon (on April 23, 2010).

According to the newsletter of Signa Iuris, volume 4 bears the title “Das Eike-von-Repgow-Dorf Reppichau zwischen 1159 und 2009” (Eike von Repgow’s Village Reppichau between 1159 and 2009). The Sachsenspiegel or Mirror of the Saxons (1220-35) is a collection of customary laws compiled by Eike von Repgow.

Volume 5 contains essays covering different topics of legal iconography, legal archaeology, and legal folklore.

For further information, I would like to refer you to Signa Iuris’ newsletter (see http://www.signa-iuris.de).
