DTAG will Skype für iPhone und Blackberry blockieren

Die Deutsche Telekom will angeblich die Software blockieren, die das bedeutende und populäre Internettelefon-Unternehmen Skype für das iPhone von Apple und für den BlackBerry von Research in Motion (RIM) entwickelt hat. Die Debatte in den USA zum Thema, wie die Netze für alle Anwendungen offengehalten werden (Net Neutrality) ist schon ziemlich weit, auch wenn ein Gesetz zur Sicherstellung noch fehlt. Die FCC hat zum Thema Net Neutrality im Madison River Decree 2005 folgende vier Prinzipien aufgestellt:
- Consumers are entitled to access the lawful Internet content of their choice.
- Consumers are entitled to run applications and use services of their choice, subject to the needs of law enforcement.
- Consumers are entitled to connect their choice of legal devices that do not harm the network.
- Consumers are entitled to competition among network providers,application and service providers, and content providers.

Die Frage ist: Welche Auswirkungen hat die Debatte in den USA auf die Gewährung der Net Neutrality in Deutschland und die Pläne der DTAG?
