Dear Colette and community members,

The 76th ILA Conference (see http://www.asil.org/annualmeeting) – to be held in Washington DC, April 7-12  2014 – will address a theme of particular interest for us: Visualization & International Law. In the Conference Program we can see this topic:

SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2014

9:00 – 10:15 a.m.

Connecting the Dots: Visualizing International Law
Sponsored by the International Legal Research Interest Group.
Using visualization and technology to enhance empirically-based arguments for changes in policy are new tools in making international law effective. The presentation of complex "Big Data" or concepts in databases such as the World Justice Project's Rule of Law Index and the World Bank's Open Data Project, can convey a sophisticated range of concepts. Dynamic, substantive visual effects will be critiqued in contexts such as human rights (Jonas Grimheden, Visualizing International Law,), treaty analysis, and health data.

Best regards from Brazil,

Prof. Marcilio Franca
